GUIDED TOUR OF CUERNAVACA AND TAXCO:
We will begin the journey by picking you up at your accommodation and heading towards Cuernavaca, the City of Eternal Spring, located 90 km from Mexico City. You will visit its impressive 16th-century cathedral, one of the first Franciscan constructions in Mexico; its Indo-Christian style architecture will leave you amazed. After exploring the cathedral, you'll be able to enjoy a short break to admire local handicrafts or savor a delicious coffee.
We will continue our tour by traveling 80 km to the charming city of Taxco, in the state of Guerrero, also known as the City of Silver. There, you will explore a replica of a mine to understand the significance of mining in the colonial time and its impact today. Taxco became one of the first mining centers over 400 years ago.
Following the mine visit, you will enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant, where you can taste a variety of typical dishes from the region. Afterwards, you will walk through the picturesque cobbled streets of Taxco, arriving at the emblematic Santa Prisca church, a dazzling example of Churrigueresque Baroque architecture. Our guide will tell you the fascinating story of the church and its benefactor, considered the richest man in New Spain.
Take advantage of the opportunity to visit the numerous silver shops for which Taxco is famous, or simply enjoy 30 minutes of free time to explore before boarding our transportation back to Mexico City. This unique experience will provide you with an unforgettable glimpse into the rich history and culture of Mexico.
